This large city garden blends contemporary formality and traditional informality through the creation of different areas – structures and hedging screens create the feeling of “rooms” outside.
Behind a large, clean-lined slate seating area, incorporating a simple, contemporary water feature, a curving lawn stretches out to a woodland border on the rear boundary. The upper seating area is shaded by a pergola, and lighting set into the retaining walls and pond provides soft illumination on long evenings.
An archway leads through planted borders to a secluded gazebo, providing a shady retreat on hot afternoons.
